Shiny Stripes
Following the speculative approach of the architect duo umschichten, we created a temporary outdoor structure that would serve as a place to gather and rest during the annual exhibition. Inspired by the many construction sites around the school, we decided to rent construction fences to serve as the leading element.
I used the opportunity to design 'Shiny Stripes' - a temporary sun lounger that can be assembled and disassembled without damaging the materials used in its construction. It consists of four wooden beams that are attached to the site fence and six silver textile stripes that are placed under tension. The lounger is stabilized by wrapping the textile around the wood several times. It offers visitors and exhausted students a place to relax during the annual exhibition.
